Hair breakage is every woman’s worst nightmare, both young and old. It is so not cute to have strands of your hair fall off each time you run a comb through it. A lot of factors contribute to hair breakage, if you apply chemicals on your hair, use excess heat and fail to moisturize, sister that’s hair breakage calling!

5 Simple ways to reduce hair breakage. 

Moisturize: yes please! If your hair lacks moisture it’s literally going to Fall off, all of it one by one. When the hair is dry and brittle, it breaks, in other to avoid this endeavor to moisturize. Leaving your hair bare is pretty dangerous, protective hairstyles, like braids, twists and wearing of wigs helps to keep your hair tips locked in, safe from harsh weather conditions and other factors that contribute to breakage.

Apply Less heat and use less chemicals: Applying excess heat to your hair Increases your chances of hair breakage and so do chemicals. Excess Heat and the continuous application of chemicals rids your hair of it’s natural strength and makes it weaker. If you must apply heat you would do well to use some sort of heat protectant. When shopping for hair products, always opt for products that have natural ingredients, like water, natural oils and butter. Products that contain alcohol would definitely dry out your hair and increase your chances of hair breakage. Always check the products before purchasing.

Sleep on a silk pillowcase: we all love our Cotton beddings but unfortunately, cotton isn’t good for the hair. Use a silk pillowcase instead for your hair’s sake. The friction between your hair and the Cotton pillowcase while you sleep causes your hair to break off. So try switching things up.

Trim your hair regularly: a good hair maintenance routine involves having your hair trimmed every once in a while. Trimming the hair helps to get rid of the dead edges and enhances growth. Don’t hesitate to snip off bad hair.
