I always wanted to work in the United Nations , that was my dream job, there’s just something about international organizations that catches my fancy!
Like I said, being a part of the United nations, was my dream job! But somehow I didn’t get it, I didn’t even come close to getting it.
Now, Your story may not be as simple as mine, probably because you dream company had already granted you an interview and you were overjoyed. You even spent sleepless nights preparing just not to screw this one chance.
Then You waited in nervous anticipation
But days turned into weeks and weeks into months and crickets!
Nothing! Not even a regret mail from this dream company! And that was how your dream job went into oblivion.
Now your first reaction is a punch of disappointment, and maybe even a pang of regret and of course the question “Why”?
First, accept it.. It takes a while but you need to Accept that it has happened and that it happened for a reason. It wasn’t really easy coming to terms with the fact that I couldn’t just wish a job into existence. But I quickly learnt that God answers prayers in three ways. “He says yes and gives you what you want, He says no and gives you something better or He says wait and gives you the best!
The worst thing you can ever do to yourself is give up. Sometimes failure, rejection or even disapointments gives us the opportunity to try again and opens the door for new opportunities that you might not have gotten if you did succeed.
Finally, the most successful people out there operate with a “resiliency mindset”.
“Chase your dreams until you catch them…and then dream, catch, and dream again! ”
