Cutting People Out of Your Life: When to do it, and How to do it!

Cutting People Out of Your Life

Staying in a toxic relationship or friendship can be very depressing. You often decide to stay back and manage because you are afraid not to be alone or not want to miss the person, even though the feelings and communication are one-sided.

I know cutting people out of your life, especially those you love and have shared intimate times with, can be painful, but when it comes you preserving your sanity, you have to do that. What is the gain of being in a relationship or friendship, and you are unhappy? It is better to cut them out of your life completely.

Cutting people out of your life means cutting them off physically and emotionally. It has to be complete to be effective.

Yes, it can be painful, but you must do that, especially for your sanity and mental health. When you cut them off, their thoughts occasionally pop into your head.

Anytime it helps, ensure to redirect your thoughts into something very dear to you, probably your job. And don’t fake your feeling. Allow yourself to feel the hurt, and let the hurt propel you to become a better individual.

Never gossip or talk about them. It is not malice; it is simply discipline. Forgive them, and go your way.

Please direct them to a counselor or therapist when they come to you for advice later. Neve gives them advice yourself. Giving them advice does not mean you care about them.

It also means that you want to feel that they can hear you and appreciate the goodness in you, which is not always the case.

To defend your territory, simply refer them to where they can get help.

Being Cut Off by Someone, You Love

Being cut by someone you love can be really painful and can even push you into depression, but you have the power not to let it break you. When such happens, the first is to reach out to the person to know what happened and why you were cut off so that if it is a personal fault, you can work on it for your subsequent relationship. If you can’t re-access the person, please forgive yourself and the person, and focus wholly on your personal development and healing. Religion is one potent healing tool; you can take advantage of it. Lastly, allow yourself to be loved again.
