4 Quotes That Will Change Your Outlook on Life

Are you feeling a bit bogged down with the conundrums of every day life? Has something happened that’s thrown you off track and made you question everything? If so, you’re not alone. Most of us feel this way at least once in our lives – in fact, a lot of us feel like this somewhat regularly. If this is something you can relate to, you might just need a change of perspective to get you back on the right wavelength.

We’ve put together this list of four quotes that are sure to make you stop and think, and hopefully, they’ll change your current outlook on life into something that’s more pleasant and positive. So, keep reading to be inspired!

  1. “In ordinary life, we hardly realize that we receive a great deal more than we give, and that it is only with gratitude that life becomes rich.” – Dietrich Bonhoeffer

There are so many reasons this quote should change the way you see the world, namely because it reminds us that what we have actually isn’t so bad and we have lots to be grateful for. It also reiterates the importance of giving back where possible in order to truly appreciate what you have. There are lots of ways you can give back; whether it’s by supporting a friend who was there for you in a time of need, buying your parents lunch for always having your back, or opting to sponsor a Hafiz or another type of charity appeal to afford others the same opportunities you had.

  1. “Life, we learn too late, is in the living, in the tissue of every day and hour.” – Stephen Leacock

A lot of life is spent preparing for the next move, but is that right? We spend so much time fixated on the future we forget that one day, these will be the days we look back on and wish we had enjoyed more, because one day, there won’t be anything to prepare for. We will have retired and there won’t be anything to plan for, and that’s when we’ll wish we had appreciated what we had and lived in the moment instead of frantically planning for a future that isn’t necessarily guaranteed.

  1. “Things turn out best for the people who make the best of the way things turn out.” – John Wooden

As annoying as it is, things don’t always turn out the way you want them to. Instead of being annoyed at the situation, channel your energy into making the most out of what you have in front of you. Every cloud really does have a silver lining, and every event and failure presents an opportunity for you to grow and develop as a person, and that’s what’s at the heart of this wholly positive quote.

  1. “Because that’s what kindness is. It’s not doing something for someone else because they can’t, but because you can.” – Andrew Iskander

Feelings of not being good enough and having no purpose are common to say the least, but rather than allowing yourself to settle down that rabbit hole, take a look at what you can do and use it! You have so many qualities that other people value, and that means you are needed. Recognising your value can really change your entire perspective on life, and the sooner you realise your potential and just how much of an impact you have on other people, the brighter and more positive your world will be.

These aren’t ground-breaking quotes and they might not make a difference to your life immediately, but rest assured that they eventually will, and when they do, your outlook on life will be bettered indefinitely.
